About Scot French

Scot French is an investment consultant based in New York City.

The entrepreneur and financial guru has over 12 years of experience managing portfolios for both executives and institutional fund managers.

Scot French founded the boutique investment firm, HP Investments, also known as Hopewell Partnership Investments, to offer reliable returns for executives looking for diversification of their portfolios.

Scot graduated from university in 2009, earning an accounting degree. He then continued with his education, receiving his Master’s of Business Administration degree just two years later.

He named the firm after his childhood home in Hopewell, Illinois, founding the company in Brooklyn in 2015 before moving back to lower Manhattan.

In college, Scot tackled a full course load as well as a prestigious finance internship. He also self-published a private newsletter focused on finance, investments and budgeting. To receive it, subscribers paid $300 a year. The newsletter reached 3,150 subscribers at its height of popularity.

It was also during this time that Scot developed the finance knowledge of small businesses and emerging startups. Paired with his existing understanding of established companies, he now had the tools necessary to help a diverse group of businesses improve their growth and financial outlook.

Scot takes a holistic approach to investing, looking at many variables including company values, culture, and trends in relevant industries before deciding how — or if — to move forward. He understands the importance of seeing the macroeconomic environment, but also balances that with the value of character, both in the company’s mission and the attitudes and goals of its leaders.

In his spare time, Scot is an avid runner, and hopes to one day compete in the Boston Marathon.
